Everything around us is changing. Society. Constructs. Foundation. Communication. It is inevitable that when everything begins to transform externally, that we in turn begin to transform internally. We are all being subjected to the shift and for the majority, this isn’t our first time being pulled towards radical change. The difference this time around will be if you choose to lean into it and change as well, or will you continue to ignore, suppress, and decline the very thing that’s calling for you to be loud and bold about?
Here's three signs you’re being called to major change:
1. You’re experiencing dissatisfaction in old habits, thought processes, people and environments.
Spaces and communities that once made you feel inclusive may not feel so warming anymore. Unfortunately, we often make connections due to trauma bonding and once you begin healing and validating yourself from within, those connections lose fire and passion. This is normal. This is healthy. This does not have to be tragic or super aggressive. You can love people right where they are and still maintain your personal boundaries. The key to dettaching from these types of connections is being 100% ok with whatever perceptions others may create of you due to your decision to enforce certain boundaries. Your tribe will feel your vibe and grow along with you. Those who don’t flow, will go. Let them.
2. You’re feeling neutral about most things; lack of desire to attach and or connect.
One thing I’m learning is whenever you begin to feel disconnected from your physical attachments it’s time to connect inward. You may be feeling unenthused about things that normally get you excited. Your attitude towards political things may be lack-luster and you may be finding it hard to empathize in most situations. This is also extremely normal. Instead of staying stuck in inversion and stagnancy, be still. Do something mentally and emotionally stimulating. Engage in activities that call you back to self. Yoga, meditation, reading, listening to music are all examples of things to do when you plan to go into #healthyhermitmode.
3. You’re feeling called to explore more things that pull you inward.
You may find yourself wanting to experience more things of depth, intentionality, and intimacy. When we aren’t aware that these feeling are meant to be personal, we can often fall back into codependent and outdated relationships. This is not the inclination to attach, but rather get up close and personal with yourself. Having some type of spiritual or mindful practice can help you stay grounded and balanced within your personal and outward relationships. Make sure you’re rooted in something that allows you to come back to self, your morals, and your values despite what may be going on around you. Finding a local community, spiritual group, church may be beneficial.
The only thing that is constant in this life is change, so it is vital that we allow ourselves to be like water, and flow with the currents it brings. Rigidness creates hard surfaces, and the goal is to be light and lifted. While you’re doing all this inner-work make sure you take some time to be kind to yourself, to self soothe, and do things that make you feel light-hearted, child-like and at ease.
